Why My Yacht Kicks Your Yacht’s Ass

caterhamsevenHow do you know when you’ve got the biggest, baddest-ass yatch on the ocean? Your yacht comes with a luxury sports car.

The Sunseeker Predator 108 Special Edition has a Caterham Seven as optional equipment. The Caterham Seven is a lightweight sports car taht’s based on the Lotus Seven – a car sold as a kit or as a pre-built car. The Lotus Seven became the Caterham Seven after Caterham bought the design rights. 2007 was the 50th year of production for the vehicle.

You will most know the Caterham Seven for its handling and performance. It’s lightweight and compact, making it a great candidate to fit on a boat.

That’s right, you almost forgot, didn’t you? The Caterham Seven comes as an option for a boat.

The boat itself is an amazing thing. The Predator 108 can house four crew members as well as eight guests. The Predator starts at more than $10 million, and you can expect to pay more than $25 million for the one that has the Caterham Seven.

I can’t even imagine what boat insurance on this kind of a setup is going to set you back, but I can guarantee it’s a pretty penny.

You can get a Predator 108 without the Caterham Seven, of course. In its place, you can have a powerboat. This would let you tool around on the open sea at speed, without having to burn all the fuel required to push the bigger yacht.

You can imagine the many possibilities here. It gives a whole new meaning to the term, “Surf n’ turf.” You can set off for St. Tropez, for example, and when you get there drive around on the island in one of the hottest and most iconic sports cars in existence. When you’re done driving around the island, you drive back on your boat and set sail for the next port.

Of course, to get the Sunseeker/Caterham boat you’re going to have to travel. Both comanies are based in the UK, and you can find them both at the London International Boat Show this month.
